AoS Worldwide

AoS South Africa is part of a global network of ministry and support to seafarers, better known collectively as Stella Maris.

All over the world AoS supports seafarers, fishers and many other 'people of the sea' and their families. Often chaplains will communicate with their AoS colleagues overseas to ensure care and support for seafarers travelling between countries.

In 2012 AoS's 23rd World Congress was held in Rome. Over 400 delegates from 70 countries met Pope Benedict XVI to discuss The New Evangelism in the maritime world. As a result of this meeting an up to date contact directory was produced, listing the AoS port chaplains across the world. This directory contains the phone numbers and e-mail addresses of the Catholic maritime agency's chaplains in more than 250 ports. Apostleship of the Sea directory has chaplains in most of the world's ports, from Durban to Dubai and from Casablanca to Colombo.

The map below gives a good view of the countries where AoS has a presence. You can view an interactive map showing our global coverage hereYou can also view the entire worldwide contact directory by downloading this pdf.
